Gabriel Chapter of the Air Force Association
Outside the Beltway Along the Aerospace Corridor.
Dear AFA Members and Friends,
I am honored to serve as next President of the General Charles A. Gabriel
Chapter of the Air Force Association. I personally thank Terry Young for his chapter
leadership over the last three years. Terry has been a strong supporter of our chapter
and the AFA and the driving force for our chapter's recent activities.
Our Gabriel Chapter primary area of responsibility (AOR) is focused on the Air Force
space and intelligence community located along the I-66 corridor from Rosslyn to beyond
the Dulles Airport. Our AOR includes the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and the
Office of the Undersecretary of the Air Force for Space Policy (SAF/US). The Gabriel Chapter
is supported by companies, large and small, that help generate and sustain our nation's aerospace
power. Our chapter goals are to support our military constituency, grow our partnership with
our industry colleagues, and reach out to the young people who will form the next generation
of aerospace professionals.

This chapter is named in honor of General Charles A. "Charlie" Gabriel, a widely-heralded fighter pilot and distinguished combat leader, a revered mentor, and U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff from 1982-1986. Chapter #433 is one of only four named after former chiefs of staff. Organized in 1988 and chartered in 1989, the Gabriel Chapter serves AFA members of the National Capital Region.
