Gabriel Chapter support of the Chantilly Academy AFJROT

Chantilly Academy Air Force Junior ROTC (AFJROTC) completed their first full scale Air Force directed unit assessment. Colonel Michael Phillips, representing Headquarters AFJROTC, came to assess/inspect the unit on 4 December 2008. Col Phillips focused on the cadets during the assessment. The cadets were evaluated on uniform wear, professionalism, cadet corps job knowledge, drill (marching) and classroom performance. Two of the senior cadets briefed Colonel Phillips on several topics related to our program including general information, issues, unit goals, and cadet accomplishments. So far this year one cadet earned an appointment to the Air Force Academy and another to West Point. There are several other cadets waiting to hear about military academy appointments and ROTC scholarships.

The Chantilly Academy cadets and instructors received the highest rating possible during their assessment - Pass with Distinction. Cadets Abdallah, Allard, Haase, and Puzzanghero and were recognized as Top Performers. This is a superior performance award only given during assessments to a very small number of cadets.

Congratulations for a job well done to all the Chantilly Academy AFJROTC cadets!
